What is IDPA
The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide. The organization now boasts membership of more than 20,000, including members in 50 foreign countries.
One of the unique facets of this sport is that it is geared toward the new or average shooter, yet is fun, challenging and rewarding for the experienced shooter. The founders developed the sport so that practical gear and practical guns may be used competitively. An interested person can spend a minimal amount on equipment and still be competitive.
The main goal is to test the skill and ability of the individual, not equipment or gamesmanship. “Competition only” equipment is not permitted in this sport.
There is a bunch of classes, teaching you all necessary knowledge to get started with IDPA.
If you are a bloody newby and you need the very basics of shooting, please get in contact with us and we can arrange a special training for you as soon as there are enough participants. Minimum 2
Classes for experienced shooters are aimed at seasoned dynamic shooters (e.g. IPSC), interested in something different than they were practicing yet.
After all you will participate in a classifier. This will allow you to compete against other shooters with the same skill level at a Match.

Currently there are two Clubs in Switzerland with more to come in near future. One in the Romandie with the other one in the German speaking part of Switzerland. Equiped with Shooting Ranges and necessary kits to build Stages and Training Parcours, IDPA will soon become your prefered Hobby in Sports-shooting.
